He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Grady and Patricia Meade Newman; and his brother Darrell Wayne Newman (Mel). He is survived by: his brother Michael Newman (Vicki); his nephews, Kyle Newman (Trisha), Trenton Newman and Russell Newman (Elizabeth); and his niece Shauna Bailey (Brian).
