He is survived by: his wife DeLaine Adams Hayes of McKinney; his sons, David Hayes (Gladys) of Nicholasville and Bruce Hayes (Dolly) of McKinney; his brother Bill Hayes (Tita) of Stanford; and his grandchildren, Lisa Fight of Waynesburg, Kevin Hayes of Stanford and Adam Hayes (Spring) of Stanford. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
