She was predeceased by: her husband Charles Johnson; her parents, Charlie Newsome and Verdie Little Newsome; her daughter Kathy Bates; her siblings, Dewey, Virgil Newsome, Bonnie Smith, Betty Browning, Nora Lawwill, Greta Jones and Linda Lou Newsome; her grandson Daniel Seth Vance (Brian Bates); and her great grandchild Chloe Mae Patrick.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sheilah Vance (late Danny) and Charlene Goble (Herbie) of Prestonsburg, KY; her sister Mary Leeker of Sun City, FL; and her great grandchildren, Rachel, David, Clay, Daniel, Drake, Dylan, Brian, Emma, Logan, Hazleigh, Arabella, Chance, Maverick, Mason and Baby Patrick. She is also survived by six grandchildren.
