He is survived by: his parents, Charles James "C. J." Bell (Linda) of Liberty and Anna Lou Durham (Clark) of Liberty; his children, James "J. W." Bell of Richmond and Machala Bell of Stanford; his grandson Owen Daulton of Stanford; and his siblings, Kendrick Durham (Jessica) of Danville, Kirsten Woodrum (Mark) of Liberty and Lindsey Mullis (Brandon) of Liberty.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Bartle Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.
