He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edwad Johnson of Harrogate and Reda Pace Johnson of Middlesboro; and his sisters, Ruth Ellison, Marnell Hamlett, Norma England, Barbara Pace and Wilma York.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Caldwell Johnson; his children, Adam Paul Johnson of Middlesboro and Lindsay Michal Townsend (Andrew Townsend); his grandsons, Avery Fuson, Liam, Kitt Townsend, Chandler, Maddie and Aiden Townsend; his mother-in-law Bessie Caldwell; and his siblings-in-law, Phyllis Pate, Michael Caldwell and Charles Cardwell. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
