He was predeceased by: his parents, J. C. Newport and Sarah Burress Newport; his grandson Dr. Gregory Newport; and his siblings, Segal (Minnie), Mitchell (Opal), Claude (Gladys), Howard Newport (Elsie), Hazel Miracle (Jesse), Mae Money (Ed) and Helen Mills (Jimmy).
He is survived by: his wife Pearl Gregory Newport; his children, Chris Newport (Kathy), Teresa Newport, Danny Newport (Renee) and Kim Newport; his grandchildren, Heather Newport Hinkle (Bo), Amy Toms, Gary Toms (Daniella), Jennifer Newport Balitz (Jeremy) and Patrick Newport (Brittani); and his great grandchildren, Blake, Trevor Stephenson, Chandler, Kylie, Savannah Hinkle, Gia Toms, Ryker, Nash Balitz, Landon Newport, Adalynn Newport and June.
