She was predeceased by: her parents, Frances Cooper Thompson Allen and Kemp Thompson; her brother Kemp; her sister-in-law Jeanne Thompson; her stepfather Nelson Allen; her daughter-in-law Teresa Howard; and her grandson Charles Mikel Howard.

She is survived by: her husband Jasper B. Howard; her son Byron Kemp Howard; her daughter-in-law Ruth Howard; her children, Thomas Winton Howard and Melissa; her son-in-law Garry Bingham; her grandchildren, Melissa Zimmerman, Benjamin (Laura Bingham), Nelson (Hannah Bingham), Kemp Howard and Noah Howard; her great grandchildren, Emoline Evans, Chloe Evans, Abigail Zimmerman, Cooper Bingham, Boone Bingham, Australian Shepherd Shadow, Byron Howard, Thomas Howard, Benjamin Bingham, Nelson Bingham, Kemp Howard and Noah Howard; her close friends, Larry Grandey and James E. Box; and her nephews, Mike Thompson and Bruce Thompson. She is also survived by dogs were each a cared for companion.
