We announce the death of Mary Lou Walzer (Middlesboro, Kentucky), who passed away on August 25, 2026, at the age of 93. Mary will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Gunnell and Hazel Gunnell; her husband Rev. Bruce Gordon Walzer; her son Bruce G. Walzer II; and her siblings, Helen Lane, Albert Gunnell and Shirley Rohrer.
She is survived by: her children, David Walzer (Tracy) and Dawne Fields (Gary); her siblings, Donald Gunnell, Robert Gunnell and Jeanette Vetter; her grandchildren, Paul Bradley Fields (Margo), Melanie Fields, Brittney Walzer-Branham, Derek Walzer, Jason Walzer and Joshua Walzer (Brandi); and her great grandchildren, Jonathon Fields, Brayden Branham, Britton Branham, Brylee Branham, Barrett Walzer, Henry Walzer and Caroline Walzer. She is also survived by many other relatives, friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the East Cumberland Ave Baptist Church (1101 E Cumberland Ave, Middlesboro, KY 40965). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
