She was predeceased by: her parents, Andrew Vanover and Jane Vanover; her husband Leonard Sheckels; her great-niece Hannah Raines; and her siblings, William Vanover, James Vanover, Wilburn Vanover, Headly Vanover, Nellie Yeary and Viola Partin.
She is survived by: her son Tim Sheckels (Donna) of Somerset; her brother-in-law Bob Sheckels (Eva) of Middlesboro; her great-niece Emily Tubbs (Brandon) of Knoxville; her great-nephew Alex Pratt (Savannah) of Middlesboro; her close friends, Joyce Siler of Rose Hill, Virginia and Edie Harris of Middlesboro; her nieces, Glenda, Paula and Rita; George and Evanell Clonce. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Green Hills Funeral Home (31 Hurst Rd, Middlesboro, KY 40965). A burial will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens (1805 State Hwy 441, Middlesboro, KY 40965).
