With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Chester Lee Sipes of Midway, Kentucky, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Chester left this world on July 20, 2025 at the age of 79, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert J. Sipes and Izola Sipes; and his siblings, Russell Sipes, Bobby Sipes and Mary Frances Embrey.
He is survived by: his wife Judith Sipes (Wathen); his children, Jenny Grimes (Kevin) and Gary Sipes (Tracy); his grandchildren, Tanner Sipes (Maria), Clay Sipes (Kara), Emma Sipes and Peyton Grimes; his great grandchildren, Kinley Hans, Kaisley Hans, Millie Brady and Rylan Sipes; and his brother James Sipes. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A vigil service was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Hager Funeral Home (633 Bland St, Brandenburg, KY 40108). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John the Apostle Catholic Church (515 Broadway St, Brandenburg, KY 40108).
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Mass of the Air.
