He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Puckett and Joyce Ashley Puckett. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Wagoner Puckett; his children, Darrell Puckett (Leah), David Puckett, Jr. (Stacy), Tony Asbury (Suzannah), Jeff Asbury (Julie) and Tammy Hash (Matthew); his siblings, Tommy Puckett (Karen) and Betty Redmon; and his grandchildren, Josh Asbury, Christin Asbury, Trevor Puckett, Hunter Puckett, Aubrey Asbury, Cameron Puckett, Kendall Puckett, Lane Asbury, Annslee Hash, Avaree Hash, Roland Underwood and Xena Underwood. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces & nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mathers-Gaunce Funeral Home (105 S Locust St, Carlisle, KY 40311). A funeral service was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at the Millersburg Cemetery (303 W 11th St, Paris, KY 40361).
