It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard B. Chaplin of Monticello, Kentucky, who passed away on October 5, 2025, at the age of 53, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Chaplin and Sandra Chaplin (Hicks); and his siblings, Melvin E. Chaplin, Ricky Melvin Chaplin, James Jessie Chaplin, Sherry Martin, Betty Jo Chaplin and Martha Miracle.
He is survived by: his sisters, Penny Burris (Anthony), Pamela Hatten (Joe) and Mary Jent (EJ); his siblings' children, William Chaplin Joshua (Tara), Cody Burris (Kassandra Hodges), Zachary Burris (Taylor Davis), Kaylee Burris, Nova and Zephyr Chaplin; and his pet Ginger. He is also survived by 20 nieces and nephews; 28 great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel (647 N Main St, Monticello, KY 42633). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
