He is survived by: his children, Richard Lee Smith Jr. of Frazier, Dawn Deanna Smith of Frazier and Samuel Hubert Smith of Frazier; his siblings, Bruce Carol Smith of St. Louis, David Smith of Bronston and Sandra Elouise Smith of Frazier; his grandchildren, Korey Smith, Samantha Reynolds (William Creger), Zachary Smith, Kaitlin Fitzpatrick (Nijal), Bishop Gastineau and Summer Smith; and his great grandchildren, Jaxson, Jeremiah, Isabella, Nijal Jr., Elijah, Niquan, Braven of Zane, DJ, Luca, Ezrah, Maddox, Asher, Charlie and Khilee.

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 2:00 PM at 209 Taylor Cemetery Rd, Monticello, KY 42633.
