He is survived by: his wife Janet "Sue" Wright Helwig; his children, William Franklin Helwig of Morehead, Tonya Perry (Travis) of Morehead, Melissa Caskey (Keith Terry) of Cumberland and Heather Caskey of Morehead; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Muncy of Morehead, Trevor Mekelburg of Lexington, Brianna Mekelburg of Lexington, Mallory Muncy of Morehead, Bryce Ratliff of Paris, Emma Bowman of Louisville, Gabe Bowman of Louisville and Koda Melton of Morehead; his great grandchildren, Nataley Tackett, Paislee Mekelburg, Aubreigh Branham, Derek Branham, Genevieve "Evie" Workman, Jasper Ratliff, Griffin Oddis and Lola Patton; his brothers, Jack Helwig II of Palatka and Steve Helwig (Leatha) of Morehead; his extended family, Diana Johnson of Morehead, Debbie, Dennis Hanson of Jeffersonville, Vanessa and Ronnie Wright of Denver; and his pets, Cali and Lakota. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
