He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Hurt Sr. and Lena Cline Hurt; his siblings, Herman, Clarence, Wendall, Reed, Arlie Hurt, Lovelle "Tootsie" King, Eunice "Own" Wilhoit and Anna Ruth Clark; and his grandson Hunter.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia A. Hurt; his daughters, Patricia Walden (Michel) of Mt. Sterling and Julia Bowman (Jason) of Morehead; his grandchildren, Megan Walden, Victoria Walden, Drake Bowman, Corbin Bowman (Airika) and Sophia Bowman; his great grandchildren, Lydia and Evelyn Bowman; and his brothers, Sherman Hurt of Campton, Bob Hurt of Campton, Bill Hurt of West Carrollton, OH, Charlie Hurt Jr. of North Carolina and Darlie Hurt of Jackson, KY..
