He is survived by: his wife Brenda J. Shelton Howard of Morgantown; his son John T. Howard of Morgantown, Kentucky; his granddaughter Amanda Portman (Michael) of Morgantown, Kentucky; his great grandchildren, Jacob Thomas Portman of Morgantown, Kentucky, Dean Michael Portman of Morgantown, Kentucky and Luke David Portman of Morgantown, Kentucky; and his brother Mark Howard (Beverly) of Morgantown, Kentucky. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church (4055 Dexterville-Banock Rd, Morgantown, KY 42261).
