He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel L. Shepherd and Iva Amos Shepherd; his wife Anna M. Johnson Shepherd; and his son-in-law Patrick Mitchell. He is survived by: his children, Steven Shepherd (Amber) of Morgantown, Kentucky., Daniel Shepherd of Morgantown, Kentucky. and Ivah Mitchell of Morgantown, Kentucky.; his grandchildren, Tayor Jared, William, Paige Shepherd, Daniel Ray Shepherd, Heather Miller, Joey and Dylan W. Shepherd; his great grandchildren, William Jared, Bennett Jared, Axel Bedel, Remington Jared, Kyralynne Mitchell, Laynie Bedel, Katana Mitchell and Noelle Anne Shepherd; his sister Colleen White of Paducah, Kentucky; his sister-in-law Jerlene Wilkerson of Roundhill, Kentucky; and his friend Jody. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
