She was predeceased by : her husband Austin Lathum; her brothers, Charles and Robert Shirley; her niece Cindy Shirley Green; her nephews, Alan, Mike and Danny Shirley; her great-nephew Josh Story; her great-niece Christine Stewart; and also Willa Moore.

She is survived by : her brother David Joel Shirley; and her nieces and nephews, Blaine Shirley (Merridith), Terry Shirley, Mark Payne, Kim Shirley White (Randall), Linda Shirley, Connie Gillespie, Katherine McWilliams and Gloria Boyd (Donald).

Erma moved to KY during covid in 2020.
