He was predeceased by: his parents, Offie Phelps and Glennie Gary Phelps; and his sister Charlotte Phelps. He is survived by: his wife Taunya Schaser Phelps; his children, Kelly Phelps Tichenor (Bill) and Gary Phelps, Jr. (Leigh Ann); his grandchildren, Jake Phelps (Kameron), Lucus Tichenor (Brooklyn), Easton Phelps, Braden Tichenor and Jenna Phelps; his great grandchildren, Holland Phelps, Lincoln and Grayson Tichenor; and his brother-in-law Jerry Phelps (Beaver Dam). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Smith Funeral Home (403 N Main St, Morgantown, KY 42261). The military honors will be held on Sunday, June 22nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made at Smith Funeral Home for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund and Wounded Warriors.
