Iris Gail Barks Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Iris Gail Barks of Morgantown, Kentucky, who passed away on March 12, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Wilford Barks; her parents, Casey Johnson and Ruby Mae Painter Johnson; and her siblings, Carl Johnson, David Johnson, Nina West and Alice Baker.
She is survived by: her children, Ben Barks (Theresa), Bruce Barks (Alice) and Rebecca Smith (Sam); her grandchildren, Jacob Barks (Heidi), Lydia Nicewinter (Josh), Austin Smith, Emily Smith, Megan Fulkerson (Scott) and Blake Barks; her great grandchildren, Ila, Stetson, Chandler, Ember, Raylynn, Kerriann, Brynlee, Kaydence and Kye; her brother Bobby Dale Johnson (Linda); and her pet Aussie. She is also survived by her dog; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Smith Funeral Home (403 N Main St, Morgantown, KY 42261). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
