He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Carathers and Julia Ann Kirby Carathers; his close friend Harriet Bratcher; and his sister Anthylene Childress. He is survived by : his children, Thomas Saran Carathers (Tammy), David Carathers of Morgantown, KY, Cassandra Carathers Freeman (Will) of Hartford, KY and Kelly Turley of Morgantown, KY; his sisters, Betty Jenkins of Beaver Dam, KY and Reita Brooks of Morgantown, KY; and his stepchildren, Kelly Ball, Tonya Lindsey and JD Bratcher. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
