He was predeceased by: his son Duke Wheeler; and his brothers, Chester Wheeler, Murrell Wheeler and Ronnie Wheeler. He is survived by: his children, Stephanie Newton of Mt. Sterling and David Wheeler II (Jayla) of Salt Lick; his grandchildren, Megan Smith (Kyle), Kevin Lee Newton II, Jackson Wheeler, Emma Wheeler, Aubreigh Wheeler and Marleigh Wheeler; his great grandchildren, Grayson Wheeler, Wyatt Smith and Caroline Smith; and his siblings, Judy Thomas of Owingsville, Fern Woosley of Mt. Sterling, Kathy Toy of Owingsville, Brenda Stroub of Indiana, Linda Patton (Bobby Hudson) of Mt. Sterling, Johnny Wheeler (Betty) of Indiana and Tommy Wheeler (Linda) of Ohio.
