Hazel Amburgey Obituary
In loving memory of Hazel Amburgey of Mount Sterling, Kentucky, who departed this world on July 21, 2025 at the age of 96. Hazel leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Powers and Effie Sorrell; her husband John Edward Amburgey; and her siblings, Oren Powers, Edward Powers, Alan Powers, Sam Powers, Jr., Beatrice Williams and Louise Gillespe.
She is survived by: her children, Bruce Edward Amburgey (Elaine) of Mt. Sterling, KY, Sam Amburgey (Teresa) of Mt. Sterling, KY, Kenny Amburgey (Rhonda Price) of Louisville, KY and Joanne Amburgey of Mt. Sterling, KY; her sisters, Helen Cannoy of Middletown, OH and Norma Robinson (Farris) of Springboro, OH; and her grandchildren, Jordan Amburgey (Maggie), Bryce Amburgey, Scott Amburgey (Jennifer), Kimberly Fannin, Kristie Paynter (Royce), Jessica Amburgey and Zach Amburgey. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Taul Funeral Home Chapel (109 E Main St, Mt Sterling, KY 40353). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 at the Machpelah Cemetery (600 E Locust St, Mt Sterling, KY 40353).
