He was predeceased by: his parents, James H. Baker and Georgia Casey Baker Turner; and his sister Diann Ferrell. He is survived by: his wife Shelby Baker of Mt. Sterling, KY; his son Johnny James Baker, Jr. (Talya Renee) of Winchester, KY; his stepson Scott Tackett (Leslie) of Hazard, KY; his daughter Kathy Baker Walker of Cynthiana, KY; his stepdaughters, Angela Peluso (Christopher) of DeMossville, KY and Tracey Hagan of Georgetown, KY; his siblings, Daryl Baker (Charlene) of Wellington, KY and Leatta Pyle (Russell) of Canton, MI; and his grandchildren, Devon Dotson, Chasity Holzapfel (Derik), Donovan Tackett, Tyler Hagan, Kobe James Baker, Justin Peluso, Katie Peluso, Jordan Peluso, Jacob Peluso, Christin Peluso and Joshua Peluso (Ciara).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Taul Funeral Home Chapel (118 Main St, Frenchburg, KY 40322). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at the BIG Woods Church Cemetery.
