With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Jane Sorrell Johnson (Mount Sterling, Kentucky), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 30, 2025 at the age of 84. She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmitt Sorrell and Nona Thompson Sorrell; and her siblings, Leonard "Pete" Sorrell, Louise Fortune and Christine Updike.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sandy Sumpter (Gary) and Debbie Johnson; her grandchildren, Jeremy Sumpter, Jessy Sumpter, GiGi Sumpter and Aisha Johnson-Sanderson; her great grandchildren, Lakeyn Barbee and Lucy Sumpter; and her nieces, Vicky Updike Martin (Scott) and Nancy Morton (Steve).
