We announce the death of Darrell Doan of Mount Vernon, Kentucky, who passed away on August 19, 2026, at the age of 69. Darrell will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Arlis and Geneva Gentry Doan; his siblings, Nadine Doan, Doris Settles, Wanda Anderkin, Zannie Robinson, Delphy Price, Tom Doan and Carl Doan; and his brothers-in-law, Dennis Robinson, Dale McFerron, Ronnie Danner, Robert Settles, Elmo Anderkin and Vernon Price.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Bullock Doan; his children, Matthew Edward Doan (Erica) of Mt. Vernon and Kimberly Ann Woods (Abner) of Mt. Vernon; his grandchildren, Ethan Woods, Kenley Doan, Madison Doan and Ryker Doan; his sisters, Jearl Bullock (Douglas) of Mt. Vernon, Lillian Caldwell (Floyd) of Mt. Vernon, Sue Robinson of Mt. Vernon, Connie McFerron of Mt. Vernon and Rosemary Danner of Berea; and his siblings-in-law, Bobby Robinson of Mt. Vernon and Helen Doan of Brodhead.
A funeral service was held on Monday, August 24th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Dowell and Martin Funeral Home (365 W Main St, Mt Vernon, KY 40456).
