He was predeceased by : his parents, Clyde James and Amanda Coy James; his son Joseph James; his brothers, Harold James and Johnny James; and his son-in-law Kenneth Neeley.
He is survived by : his wife Betty Sue Hurley James of Mount Vernon, KY; and his children, Eva James of Mount Vernon, KY, William James, Jr. (Tressa) of Mount Vernon, Mary Neeley of Richmond, KY, Angela James of Richmond, KY and Nancy James Boyken of Mount Vernon, KY. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, and 42 great grandchildren.
