He was predeceased by: his parents, D. L. Burd and Rachel Burd. He is survived by: his wife Laura Early Burd; his children, Michael (Julie) of Lakeland, TN and Ryan Scott (Eric); his pet Jessica Burd of Brentwood, TN; and his grandchildren, Jacob Choate, Sam Choate, Trey Burd, Jack Burd, Ella Burd and Cate Burd.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Hart County Scholarship Alliance or Animal Rescue Kare (ARK) /Animal Haven.
