He was predeceased by : his son William Todd Davis (Erica); his parents, Reo Davis and Virgie C. Davis; his brother Rick Davis; his parents-in-law, Herley and Geneva Childress; and his niece Lillie Gaddie.

He is survived by : his wife Virginia Davis; his children, Katie Davis and Ben Davis (Sarah); his granddaughters, Addie, Sommer, Brooke and Gemma Davis; his siblings, Reo Davis (Pam), Tracy Sandefur (Paul) and Sarah Davis-Madden; and his siblings-in-law, Leo Childress, Vincent Childress (Shirley), Lelia Sublett (Jim), Melody Gaddie (John Wilson), Renee Defevers (Robert) and Mary Jo Davis. He is also survived by Eleven nephews and five nieces also survive, plus several great nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the Knights of Columbus organization or the Hart County Historical Society.
