Michael Cooper wrote a sympathy message

“To the Schuttler family, Sorry to hear of Chuck’s passing. I was a CSO with Lombard PD and worked the 7-3 shift with Chuck. He was always a pleasure to be around and was my “go to” if I had questions, as he was always willing to help and lend a hand. May he rest in eternal peace. Fly high my friend.”

Joe Tomanek wrote a sympathy message

“Chuck was my 11-7 training officer on the police department in 1975. I learned a great deal on what to look for in criminal activity during those dark hours. I also enjoyed social dinners with Denise and Chuck when they “fixed me up” with a couple of blind dates during the 70’s, we had a ton of fun. My deepest condolences to the entire Schuttler family, Chuck was a very good man. Joe Tomanek”

“I also had the pleasure of working With Chuck. He was always smiling and was well liked by all. Back in the late 70’s several of us on the Lombard Police Department started using personal CB radios in our cars. It was a great way to communicate with others on the radio who happened to be traveling through Lombard Illinois. Chuck helped me identify a good radio before I bought I’ll always remember his CB handle of “Price County Private”. Rest In Peace my friend.”

James Mazurek wrote a sympathy message

“I am very sorry for you and your families lost. Chuck and I were good friends and we worked very well together. I always like talking to him about work or whatever was on our minds. Chuck alway commanded respect from fellow officers and the community. He was a great friend, co-worker, family man, and a human being. Chuck never talked down to anyone and always had this great smile on his face. Had many laughable moments together. He will be truly missed by many. R.I.P. my friend!”
