With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Doris Rose Merrick of Nancy, Kentucky, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 8, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Tye Stevenson and Hattie Burton Stevenson; her husband Lowell Wendle Merrick; and her siblings, Samuel Leonard Stevenson, Lyle Stevenson (Nettie) and Zella Rogers.
She is survived by: her children, Steven Merrick (Carolyn) of Nancy, Sharon Dalton (Rodney) of Nancy, Stephanie Woodson (Curt) of Georgetown and Sabrina Merrick of Nancy; her brothers, Charles Stevenson (Mary Beth) of Nancy, Harold Stevenson (Rhoda Jane) of Clarksville, TN, Stanley Stevenson (Linda) of Nancy and Leland Stevenson (Nancy) of Nancy; her sister-in-law Bonnie Stevenson of Nancy; her grandchildren, Nathaniel Merrick (Hannah Watts), Brandon King (Myriam), Travis King (Deanna), Tamsen Ryan (Steven), Heather Lawhorn, Clinton Woodson (Katie), Kyle Woodson (Natasha), Darrell McGahan (Jaclyn) and Trevor McGahan (Carly Kenn); her great grandchildren, Haley King, Ethaniel Merrick, Hudson Merrick, Beau Merrick, Henley King, Owen King, Bailey Ryan (Callie Casteel), Savannah Ryan, Madison Ryan, Kelsey Lawhorn, Jax Lawhorn, Griffin Woodson, Jett Woodson, Amelia McGahan and Parker McGahan; and her great great grandchild LaurelRose.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home (1046 KY-80, Somerset, KY 42503). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the Sunrise Boys Home, Gideon Bible Memorial Fund, or Hospice of Lake Cumberland in memory of Doris Merrick.
