He was predeceased by : his father Glynn Thornton; and his grandson John Randolph Thornton, Jr.. He is survived by : his wife Marsha Thornton; his mother Roberta Thornton; his children, Christopher (Kathy), Jeffery, John (Tracie), Robert Thornton and Kimberly Savells (John); and his siblings, Joel (Patty), Julian Thornton and Camene Dill (Paul).
