He is survived by: his wife Jane Jenkins Venis; his children, Brenna Appel (James), Holly Weaver and David K. Venis (Karen); his sister Patricia Olsen; his grandchildren, Madeline, Mary Tyler, Colin, Dylan, Tyler, Henry, Anna, Nathan, Caleb and Emelyn; and his former wife Julia Brashear.
