He was predeceased by: his parents, James L. Sr. McDaniel and Betty Bowling McDaniel. He is survived by: his wife Eva Joyce Lowry; his sons, Jim McDaniel and John Jason McDaniel; his grandchildren, Brittany, Jacob, Juliette and Jenna Violet; his great grandchildren, John Ayden Rose (Brittany), Rhett Napier (Brittany) and Evelyn Rose McDaniel (Jacob); and his sisters-in-law, Linda Lowry and Sally Lowry. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hager and Cundiff Funeral Home (207 W Oak St, Nicholasville, KY 40356). A graveside service was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Maple Grove Cemetery (500 N Main St, Nicholasville, KY 40356).

The family suggests donations be made in his memory to the Edgewood Baptist Church, Nicholasville, Ky.
