She was predeceased by: her parents, William Leland Barnette and Geraldine Barnette Williams; her son Charles Scott Hawkins (David L. Stewart); and her husband John Thompson. She is survived by: her children, Sergeant Major Richard A. Hawkins (Cindy) and Michele R. Johnson (Chad Mortenson); and her grandchildren, Lauren Brooks (Steven), Jordan Berndt (Justin) and Drake Hawkins (Bailey).
