David left this world on October 31, 2025 at the age of 66, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Matney and Janice Marie Matney; and his sisters, Mary Ann Wages and Effie Moore. He is survived by: his girlfriend Carol Santiago; his children, Felicia Howard (Bobby) of Sandy Hook, KY, James M. "Coy" Matney of Ashland, KY, Tasha Loudin (Michael) of Versailles, KY, Shawn Matney of Versailles, KY, Carlos Santiago (Hilda), Kristy Perez (Yadier) and Cynthia Martin; and his brother Kevin Matney of Ashland. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Malone Funeral Home (325 Malone Ln, Grayson, KY 41143). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
