He was predeceased by: his parents, Katherine Lee Johnson-Evans and Nelson Evans; his siblings, Gene Evans, Dan Evans, Bo Evans (Kay) and Joan Sturgill (Joe); and his sister-in-law Bessie Evans.
He is survived by: his wife Margret Gay Messer-Evans; his children, Cathy Brown (Phil), Caroline Knipp-Sanders (Rob), Teresa Fultz (Tony) and Larry Knipp; his siblings, Susie Fultz (Brent) and Grady Evans; his sisters-in-law, Katie Evans, Alieen Messer and Shirley Evans; and his nephew Brady. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
