She was predeceased by: her parents, Stanley Caldwell and Marie Horn Atherton; her sons, James Alvin Stamper and Virgil Stamper Jr.; and her siblings, Kenny Atherton, Richard McPete, Mary Louise Fyffe and Martha Jean Jones.
She is survived by: her husband Virgil Gail Stamper; her daughters, Debbie Thomas (Wade) of Morehead and Frances Glover (Tim) of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and her siblings, Melvin Atherton of Mansfield, Ohio, Nina Williams of Paducah, Dorothy Smith of Harrod and Beverly Brown of Mt. Vernon. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, May 17th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Globe Funeral Chapel (17277 W US. Hwy 60, Olive Hill, KY 41164). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 17th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
