He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Ellis and Iva Ellis; his wife Mary Ruth Ellis; his daughter Ruth Ann Ellis; and his brothers, Albert Ellis, Jr., Norman Ellis, Bill Hamilton and Carl Hamilton.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas Loyd Ellis (Celyna) of Houston, Roger Allen Ellis (Vickie) of Owensboro, Deborah Joyce Ellis of West Frankfort and Rodney Neal Ellis (Christy) of Owensboro; his grandchildren, Robin Ellis, Magen Cherry, Leslie Mallia, Bradley Ellis, Jonathan Ellis, Tiffany Nicholson, Bryanna Bruce, Lorie Odam, Katie Brewick, Allison Ellis, Natalie Ellis and Andrew Ellis; and his sister Louise Levine of New York. He is also survived by 24 great grandchildren, one great great grandchildren.
