He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl R. Melander and Eunice Aney Melander; and his grandson Bryce W. Newton. He is survived by: his children, Carla Newton (Mark), Mary Pflieger (Carl) and Mark Melander; his close friend Marilyn Enos; his brother Kurt Melander (Robin); and his grandchildren, Bethanie, Joy, Jonna, Ashby, Krista, Samuel and Brodie. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory (900 Old Hartford Rd, Owensboro, KY 42303). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
