He was predeceased by: his parents, George Boyd and Everlena Neal Boyd; his daughter Cassandra "Cookie" Barnes; and his siblings, Magdalena Boyd Dumas, Loretta Boyd, Willie George Boyd and R. T. Boyd.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Taylor "Poochie" Boyd; his children, Jason Lewis II (Andrea) of Dayton, Ohio, Jackie Decembly-Dorsey (Steven) of Dayton, Ohio and Sonya Decembly of Dayton, Ohio; his stepchildren, Karen Crowe of Atlanta, Leslie Crowe III (Amy) of Georgetown and Nathan Crowe of Lexington; and his siblings, Betsy Campbell of Dayton and Apollos Boyd of Dayton. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
