He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas M. Grimes and Mayme Stengell Grimes; and his wife Nancy Whittaker Grimes. He is survived by: his children, Steve Grimes (Rebecca Spangler), Janet Ruth (Joe), Mike Grimes (Mindy) and Thom Grimes (Scott Seay); his grandchildren, Jeremie Ruth (Jen), David Ruth (Lizzie), Wilder Grimes, Evalee Grimes and Lee Spangler; and his great grandchildren, Kayla, Van and Lilli.
