He was predeceased by: his parents, John Olson Sr. and Mary Olson. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Simpson Olson; his sister Mary Kay; his sons, Greg Olson and Stephen Sheriff (Melissa) of Austin, Texas; and his grandchildren, Hayden Sheriff, Makayla Marion and Taylor Marion.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory (900 Old Hartford Rd, Owensboro, KY 42303). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the Christ Chapel at Owensboro Memorial Gardens (5050 KY-144, Owensboro, KY 42303).
