We announce the death of Mildred Johnson Smith of Owensboro, Kentucky, who passed away on October 6, 2026, at the age of 94. Mildred will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis Titus and Petronilla Speaks Johnson; her husband Richard Lee Smith; her siblings, Herbert Johnson, F. T. Johnson, Wilburn Johnson, Edwina Payne, Mae Hester, Lucille Schweikarth, Lillie Horton, Cecilia Hawkins and Margie Clark; her great grandchild Bailey Thompson; and her grandson Keith Peercy.
She is survived by: her children, Wayne Smith (Susan), Bob Smith, Greg Smith (Delores) and Gail Wallace (Ricky); her grandchildren, Robin Thompson (Richard), Holly Barber (Lee), Amy Thompson (Andy), Tyler Smith (Trina), April Gray (Jordan), Melody Clark (James), Amber Hitch (John), Chad Ray (Stephanie), Krystal Flowers (Adam), Jeff Smith (Natalie) and Carissa James (Bryce); her stepgrandchildren, Tennille Hinton (Danny), Brent Wallace (June) and Adam Wallace (Casey); and her brother Harold Johnson (Barbara). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Pius X Catholic Church (3418 KY-144, Owensboro, KY 42303). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
