It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Myrtie Ellen Wilhoyte of Owensboro, Kentucky, who passed away on October 11, 2025, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Coleman and Georgia Ellen Hosman Coleman; her husband George C. Wilhoyte; and her brother Samuel Coleman. She is survived by: her children, Gerald Wilhoyte (Judy), Ellen Johnson (D. J.), James "Jim" Wilhoyte (Tammy) and Lynn Garis (Greg); her grandchildren, Josh Wilhoyte, Jeremy Wilhoyte (Kristin), Courtney French (Bobby), Storm Kowalewski (Cam), Cole Garis and Hope Garis; and her great grandchildren, Nathan, Shelby, Kaidyn, Everlie, Madilyn and Maverick.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory (3009 Frederica St, Owensboro, KY 42301). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
