She was predeceased by: her parents, James Dant and Mary Dant (Fenwick); her husband Preston Van Bussum; her sons, James Matthew and Richard Lee Van Bussum; and her siblings, Theresa Thompson, Clarise Medley, Sylvia Tomayko and Finis Dant.
She is survived by: her children, Daniel Van Bussum (Deborah), Cecilia McCarty (Bill), Sam Van Bussum (Lisa) and Yvonne Wathen (Danny); her grandchildren, Dennis Van Bussum (Rose), Jenny Phelps, Amy Hardy (Brandon), Jeremy Van Bussum (Kelly), Richelle Bryant (Roger), Matthew McCarty, Nina Wiggins (Justin), Travis Van Bussum (Amanda), Meghan Libs (Casey), Rebecca Byrd (Justin), Richard Wathen (Samantha) and Nathan Wathen; her sister Daisy Gibson; and her brother-in-law Byron Lee Van Bussum. She is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 15th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A prayer will be held on Sunday, June 15th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory (519 Locust St, Owensboro, KY 42301). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church (609 E 4th St, Owensboro, KY 42303).
