He was predeceased by: his parents, William A. Johnson and Cornelius Josephine Gropp Johnson; and his brothers, Thomas Johnson, Jerry Johnson and Hal Johnson, Sr..
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Grady "Patty" Johnson; his sons, Peter Charles "Charlie" Johnson, Jr. (Allison) of Owensboro, Matthew Boyd "Matt" Johnson (Rheonna) of Owensboro and Mark Allen Johnson (Stephanie) of Henderson; his grandchildren, Brooke Arthur (Chase), Parker Johnson (Emma), Ava Johnson, Brayden Johnson, William Johnson (Mackenzie), Beth Leichhardt (Mason), Ben Johnson, Devan Rudd and Jacob Melton (Madison); and his siblings, Cloa Thompson of Owensboro and Bill Johnson (June) of Owensboro. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory (900 Old Hartford Rd, Owensboro, KY 42303). A prayer will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church (609 E 4th St, Owensboro, KY 42303).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Owensboro Catholic High School for help with their new chapel, 1524 W. Parrish Avenue, Owensboro, KY 42301.
