He was predeceased by: his parents, James I. Nix and Attie Belle Nix (Halstead); his brother James Robert Wethington; and the mother of his children Anna Lois Nix. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Nix (Johnson); his children, Darla Nix Oldham (John), R. J. Nix, Angela Christian and Michael Christian; his siblings, Irvin Lee Nix (Mary) and Debbie Nix Gilbreath (John); and his close friend Lee Markwell. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
