Shirley B. Coomes Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley B. Coomes of Owensboro, Kentucky, who passed away on February 13, 2026 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William McKinley Blair and Bessie Sanders Blair; her husband Thomas E. Coomes; her brothers, Freddie Blair and Ed Blair; and her children-in-law, Chris Carrico and Martha Coomes.

She is survived by: her children, Karen Carrico (Bill Carlock) of Owensboro, Pat Coomes of Cadiz, Mark Coomes (Yvonne) of Owensboro, Charles Coomes (Pam) of Owensboro and Robert Coomes of Kitts Hill, Ohio; her grandchildren, Tiffany Coomes, Sara Coomes, Megan Coomes, Brittany Coomes, Cody Coomes, Tyler Coomes, Kelsey Carrico and Kayla Carrico; and her siblings, Earl Blair, Charles Blair (Ogee) and Jean Stewart. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
