With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of William Ater Brooks Jr. of Owensboro, Kentucky, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 9, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William A. Brooks Sr. and Laura Bell Brooks Timms; his wife Nettie Margaret Brooks; and his siblings, Mannie Ann (Bob), Janice Baker and Chuck Brooks (Carol).
He is survived by: his daughters, Connie Francis Brooks, Sherry Lynn Sangalli (Steve) and Deborah Ann Sanders (Dale); his grandchildren, Christopher "John Henry" Bartlett (Ellen Jett), Deanna Kay Taylor (Bryant), Olivia Ziegler (Chris), Natalie Nicole Dickerson (Noah) and Brooke Lynn Sangalli; his great grandchildren, Gavin Sanders (Allison Folkema) and Cameron Taylor; and his brother-in-law Phil Baker. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Owensboro Memorial Gardens (5050 KY-144, Owensboro, KY 42303).
